I got my new motherboard , processor, video card and ram set up last night. I had one problem, the Gateway case is not set up to receive ATX motherboards. I used pliers, files and a hammer and it still would not fit to the rear openings and screw holes, lol. I found an old case that I had tucked in the closet from a few years ago ( I know it would be of use someday!!). Anyways, my cpu looks like a freak show. The DvD drive (from old gateway case) sticks out about 3" in the front. The drive is black and silver and my old case has that pool hall 30 year old smoke color to it. Vintage baby! My question is, the motherboard recommends a 350 watt, 180 amp power supply, I am looking at a new case now that comes with a 500 wattt Power Supply, can you safely use a 500watt power supply for a recommended 350 watt?

ROFL Perone...geeesh! ZOT! OUCH....why do i listen to him I reccomend uping to more than 500...if the board is reccomending 350, you still need power for your peripherals. Go 750 is my thought.
